WHO  and What PAMFT is all about...

PAMFT is the Pennsylvania division of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT).  We are dedicated to providing excellent clinical services to individuals, couples, and families; to adherence of the ethical standards set up by AAMFT furthering the education of Marriage and Family Therapists; and to the promotion and enhancement of the profession of Marriage and Family Therapy.

Ours is a unique approach to enhancing relationships.  Marriage and Family Therapists (MFTs) do not just work with married couples or families.  We are trained to focus on the individual within a "system" - whether that system be a couple, family, or group.  Our specialized training allows us to view each problem through a wide lens and to consider all of the possible ways of achieving the client's goals.  Out efforts are focused with the "end in mind."

Rigorous training is required to meet national and state standards, as established by AAMFT and PA state legislation.  When you look at a marriage and family therapist, be sure to look for "Clinical Member of AAMFT."
